T.H. is 3 years old, and came to THEP in January of 2006.  His mother hoped therapeutic riding might be able to help with his speech delay .  He also suffered from acid  reflux and vertigo.  Before his second lesson, his mother and grandmother came to the office and said he saw his Doctor, and he noted that T.H. showed no signs of acid reflux or dizziness. He asked her if she was doing anything different and the mother replied that he rode a horse for therapy last week. The Doctor told the grandmother and mother that the therapy is having a positive effect on his digestive system as well because he was no longer showing signs of vomiting, acid reflux or dizziness.  T.H. never misses a lesson and continues to make progress in his speech.  He can now verbalize commands to his horse in English and Spanish and is learning to vault around his horse. 

These are just two of our many success stories. Each client that participates in our program has their own unique story, and it is for their first step, first word or first independent ride that keeps us motivated.
